Transition to a Cashless Economy
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized that the 2026 package is a milestone for the country's financial inclusion. Under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), a “Social Protection Wallet” is being introduced. From March 2026, many beneficiaries will receive free SIM cards, and all future subsidies will be transferred directly to these digital wallets, ensuring a corruption-free experience.
