The minimum educational qualification requires the applicant to hold either a Professional Accountant designation (FCA/FCII/ACII) or a Master’s Degree (16 years of education) in a relevant field such as Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Commerce. A strong preference will be given to individuals holding a degree from a reputable foreign university (UK, US) or one recognized by the HEC.

In terms of professional background, a substantial 20 years of relevant experience in the public or private sector is mandatory. This must include at least 10 years in senior leadership roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a key leadership position at a senior management (C-Level). Experience specifically within the insurance or reinsurance industry is preferred. A critical requirement is that the candidate must have a thorough understanding of financial regulations, risk management, and board governance, with essential familiarity with the Insurance Companies (Sound and Prudent Management) Regulations, 2012.

Terms of Appointment

The appointment for the CEO will be on a contract basis, initially for a period of three (03) years, which is extendable based on performance and mutual consent.
