Health Department Sindh CMW Admissions 2025-27: A Guide to the Community Midwifery Course
The Office of the Deputy Director General (RMNCH), Directorate General Health Services Sindh, has announced admissions for its Community Midwifery Training Course (Batch-17) for the academic session 2025-2027. Applications are invited from dedicated female candidates from specific districts across Sindh Province for this vital 24-month training program.
Industry Overview: A Career as a Lifeline for Communities
A career as a Community Midwife (CMW) is one of the most noble and impactful roles in the public health sector. CMWs are frontline healthcare heroes who serve as a lifeline for mothers and children, especially in rural and underserved areas. They play a critical role in reducing maternal and infant mortality rates by providing essential care, guidance, and support during pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal periods. This training program is not just an educational course; it is a pathway to becoming a trusted, respected, and life-saving health professional within your own community.
Current Market Demand
This large-scale, district-specific admission drive highlights the Government of Sindh’s strategic commitment to strengthening its primary healthcare system at the most grassroots level. The demand is not for generic healthcare workers but for local women from specific Union Councils (UCs) who can be trained to serve their own communities. This targeted approach ensures that the CMWs have deep-rooted local knowledge and enjoy the trust of the families they serve. The government is seeking to create a dedicated cadre of skilled midwives to fill critical healthcare gaps and ensure that quality maternal and newborn care is accessible to every corner of the province.
